Yup, trying this again. Let’s see how long it lasts this time… –Higbie–
Here’s a list of the books I’ve been making my through on this trip:
– _I Chose the Rails_ by Bradford Barrington
– _On the Road_ by Jack Kerouac
– _How to Travel Full Time_ by Colin Wright
– _Surfer’s Code_ by Shaun Tomson
I’m testing out both the WordPress app for my Nexus 7, and Google Voice typing. My thought is I might be more inclined to write if I use technology at my hands to make it easier.
And I have to say that so far is going well. Google voice typing with Jelly Bean on my Nexus tablet works fairly seamlessly. Although I find myself talking a little less naturally. And I’m definitely going slower and enunciating more. But, it’s much faster than typing with the on screen keyboard. Plus, I have a tendency to type slowly with the regular keyboard which makes me stop and do more editing and second guessing as I write instead of just getting my thoughts out . So, perhaps it is a good thing; although it may prove challenging in my upcoming two week trip to do this on a train or in a hostel and not look like crazy person.
It seems to me that as more more devices both on iOS and Android become voice controlled that there may be a resurgence in the old Bluetooth headset game: “Crazy or Cell Phone.”
So uh I guess there’s a new status posting type thingy for WordPress. So, that’s what I’m doing. My current status is testing WordPress status postings. Enjoy.
I have a few ideas brewing for new projects. Some may involve this space, some do not.
One big thing I’m working on is a personal online re-brand. I’ve been out of college for 14 years now, so it’s probably time to retire or downplay an identity based on my college fraternity.
This site will remain for the time being. — The domain will remain registered longer, pointing to the new site when it is ready.
For now, check-out my Flickr & 500px streams for new photo edits.
Instagram for Android is finally here! Now I can add all of these cool hipster filters to my cellphone pictures! </sarcasm>
Seriously, I am happy to see that Instagram has finally found it’s way onto Android. I’ve tried many of the wanna-be clone apps for Android & just haven’t found one I liked. Plus, *anything* that can make the crappy pics from my DROID2 look even slightly better is welcome.
Find me on Instagram! My username is lcakg631 .
Get the Instagram app in the
Android Market Google Play Store here:
I just joined 500px today. It purports to be a more “professional” photographers’ community. I will say that the design of the site is very clean and less dated than Flickr.
So far, I’ve only posted four of my better photos from the past three months. I’m going to try it out and see how the community is.
I’m also going to try to use my Google+ account more. I keep hearing that there is a vibrant Photoblogger community there.
Hey all (and by “all” I mean the one person, me, who actually knows about this).
I think I’ve finally decided what to do with this thing. As I catch-up with the Internet as it was in 2006, I plan on posting random things here. Mostly self-promoting posts that matter to just me. If you’re not me, please still feel free to read & comment.
The past couple of months, I’ve mostly been playing with my DSLR & trying to learn as much as I can about photography & PhotoShop. So, that will probably be what the majority of posts here are about for now. Yeah, yeah, I know. Yet another photography blog.
There will be other stuff, too. But as for content & update frequency: I make no promises.
Yup, trying this again. Let’s see how long it lasts this time…
